Statement | I make work which explores our deeply symbiotic relationship with the landscape we move through. The constant connection to shifts in light and weather, alongside themes of community, belonging and experience. Considering how humankind seeks control or stability, alongside connection, in the face of the landscape’s ostensibly wild and unpredictable nature. Staining the canvas with overlapping colour and shape, I look for ways to find comfort, assurance or gentleness within. Recalling the confidence of a structure, a place of safety, remembering patterns, marking time and the shape of journeys. |
