I paint the breath taking scenes which surround us in south-west Scotland.  Capturing treasured views on canvas board of the rugged coastline, the light breaking through the cloud onto our bays and the local places of interest all which have a story to tell.  Visitors see my work and may instantly recognise the landscapes which I enjoy observing to see if they too have a connection.  Out in the fresh air I am taking photos being inspired by our amazing scenery and the colours of our natural world, excited to get back to my studio to start creating the next composition.

I use flat headed brushes which help when I reach the final details of adding colourful marks across the horizontal water and upright swathes to grassland. Not many have usually heard of my favoured medium which is a water mixable oil paint.  I was introduced to the controllable material and absolutely love mixing up each fresh colour palette before I begin.  I have the cleanest studio and painting apron known to anyone, as I am a neat freak and love a good clean down at the end of each painting day.
